2014 was a difficult year for me, I had a herniated disc in my lower back that started in January and continued to worsen until I had no choice but to quit my job in May and we, because of the loss of income, had to sell our home and move. I was able to have back surgery in August and began the slow process of healing. My back was getting better but my heart was still broken and I wallowed in it for months. Then on February 19 2015, I stepped on the scale and weighed in almost 300 lbs., was most likely an alcoholic, and I smoked. I didn’t like where my life was going and I was sick of being unhappy so I decided I to change everything. Just like that. On February 20, 2015, I stopped eating carbs and started following a ketogenic diet, I also quit drinking and smoking at the same time.

Today I have lost over 100 lbs. by following my nutrition guidelines (macros), I have never cheated on my diet, had a drink or picked up another cigarette.
